Balearic Soul are one of Spain’s most respected and talented house duos: true technicians and a mainstay of the quintessential Balearic sound. Gonzalo Luis and Ramón López have spent three decades shaping dancefloors at home and abroad, and their catalogue reads like a run of club house classics.

Their Babylonia mixes of “Born Again” became a genuine crossover smash, hammered by top DJs worldwide and pushed by heavy radio play into the single and dance charts across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, hitting number one in countries including Portugal, Holland, Angola, Albania, Lebanon, Greece and Romania.

That success sits alongside a string of releases on some of the best house labels in the world: Defected, Strictly Rhythm, Purple Music, Stereo Productions, Illegal Beats, Rise and Sound Division. A glance at their discography turns up gems like their Balearic Soul remixes of Moloko’s “Forever More,” Fish Go Deep’s “The Cure & The Cause” and DJ Chus’s “That Feeling,” the last of which was reissued by Stereo Productions in 2025 as part of the track’s 25th-anniversary package, proof that their work still circulates today.
